The journey into the future began in mid-2021 with the first event on the topic of digitalization.
The hybrid event, which took place in the old injection molding hall at the Lüdenscheid plant, began for 85 colleagues with Telekom’s presentation on the topics of 5 G Campus and a keynote speech on Industry 4.0.
Other central questions were examined more specifically in the presentations by speakers from Symate and JUST EXPERTS: “What will tomorrow’s work look like? What opportunities does virtual reality offer in production? How can core processes be made more digital and what added value does digital collaboration offer?”
“We need to understand that digitalization means more than artificial intelligence and information dissemination. The basic building block of successful digitization is the interaction of digital processes with people. We have to understand that this is not just an IT project, but a holistic cultural change at GERHARDI. From employees to management, all players are equally involved, says Nikolas Schwarzelmüller, Head of Corporate Development.
Various digitization projects are currently underway in the individual divisions. Many employees from the individual areas are currently undergoing digitalization workshops and are being trained as so-called “digital pioneers”. The digital pioneers have the task of passing on what they have learned to the divisions and raising awareness of digitalization within the divisions.
